چکیده

We address the problem of discovering routes in strongly connected planar geometric networks with directed links. We consider two types of directed planar geometric networks: Eulerian (in which every vertex has the same number of ingoing and outgoing edges) and outerplanar (in which a single face contains all the vertices of the network). Motivated by the necessity for establishing communication in wireless networking based only on geographic proximity, in both instances we give algorithms that use only information that is geographically local to the vertices participating in the route discovery.

Void traversal for efficient non-planar geometric routing

Geometric routing provides a scalable and efficient way to route messages in ad hoc networks if extensive routing information is unavailable. Such algorithms require a planar graph to guarantee message delivery. The routing techniques for such guarantee usually center around the traversal of planar faces of the graph. However, in realistic wireless networks existing planarization methods, if at...

Semiotics of Collective Memory of the Iran-Iraq War (Holy Defence): A Case Study of the Shared Images in Virtual Social Networks

This study aims to achieve a semiotic understanding of collective memory of the Iran-Iraq war. For this purpose, samples of images in virtual social networks shared in response to the news of discovery and return of the bodies of more than 175 divers have been analyzed. Visual signs in photographs, cartoons, graphic designs, prints, paintings and posters, in methods of historical pictures and f...

Planelet Transform: A New Geometrical Wavelet for Compression of Kinect-like Depth Images

With the advent of cheap indoor RGB-D sensors, proper representation of piecewise planar depth images is crucial toward an effective compression method. Although there exist geometrical wavelets for optimal representation of piecewise constant and piecewise linear images (i.e. wedgelets and platelets), an adaptation to piecewise linear fractional functions which correspond to depth variation ov...

Tight Linear Lower Memory Bound for Local Routing in Planar Digraphs

Local geometric routing algorithms with logarithmic memory are in widespread use in modern MANETs (mobile ad hoc networks). Formally, these are algorithms executed by an agent traveling from node to node in a geometric graph, using only local geometric information at each node, leaving no traces and carrying O(log n) bits of memory. For the case of undirected graphs, theoretical and practical a...

M-Geocast: Robust and Energy-Efficient Geometric Routing for Mobile Sensor Networks

In this paper we investigate a practical routing solution for a new class of wireless sensor networks where any node can be mobile anytime. Assuming GPS-enabled sensor nodes we propose a new geometric routing protocol called M-Geocast that is designed to efficiently support node mobility as well as location service for such mobile sensor networks. Unlike existing geometric routing schemes, M-Ge...
